GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The MetroWest STEM Education Network (MSEN) is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Development & Communications Coordinator to join the team. This role will be responsible for a range of fundraising, communications/marketing, grant writing, and event planning initiatives to build financial sustainability, promote visibility and increase membership through traditional and social media communications channels. Reporting directly to the MSEN Project Manager, the Development & Communications Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively with the MSEN leadership to support the implementation of initiatives to meet the network strategic plan goals.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with MSEN leadership to develop a sustainability plan for the network
Conduct research on funding opportunities
Write grants and proposals to support programs and special events
Draft donor solicitation letters and other fundraising materials
Complete MSEN reporting as required by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
Plan and manage organizational STEM outreach events and professional development including promotion, logistical planning, and sponsorship solicitation
Increase MSEN exposure by managing a social media strategy, creating content across social media channels
Maintain and update the MSEN website
Contribute to the development and implementation of a diversity and inclusion strategy for all audiences served by the MSEN.

McAuliffe Center Director, MSEN Project Manager, Dean of STEM, MSEN Director
Demonstrated experience raising funds from, and building relationships with, individuals, corporations, foundations and government entities
Experience writing grants and/or proposals
Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
Knowledge of a broad range of social media platforms
Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of external and internal partners
Highly effective organizational and time management skills
Working knowledge of budgets
Ability to work independently and under direct supervision of the MSEN Project Manager
Event planning and management experience
Previous experience working with STEM organizations is a plus
Experience using a donor database, Constant Contact and Google Analytics are a plus
