The TallWood Design Institute is seeking an Outreach Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Associate Director of Outreach, Engagement and Project Management.
The TallWood Design Institute (TDI) at Oregon State University (OSU) is a collaborative effort of the College of Forestry (CoF), College of Engineering and University of Oregon tasked with enhancing the use of mass timber and other wood products in the built environment. This position will assist in the outreach and education of professionals in architecture, engineering, construction and wood products manufacturing about the use and advantages of wood based construction. The professional audience for TDI outreach includes building code officials, government officials, architects, structural engineers, wood products manufacturers and contractors.
This position will facilitate, design and manage all aspects of TDI's outreach program, including: a.Development and delivery of outreach educational programs and materials, b.Network-building, c.Business development, d.Marketing and promotion.
The incumbent will work closely with TDI staff, associated faculty and allied professionals to design and deliver a holistic outreach program for TDI. This includes amassing a library of information on various mass timber topics, creating and maintaining marketing and communications materials, obtaining research results from projects funded by TDI and documenting other newsworthy developments for fact sheets and web updates, giving presentations and representing TDI at various events, trade shows and conferences.
This position will reside in TDI and report to the Associate Director for Outreach and Engagement, while participating in the Forestry and Extension Natural Resources Program to develop and deliver mass timber education programs.
