Charles B. Wang Community Health Center is a federally qualified health center with multiple sites in Manhattan and Queens. We are a growing organization currently planning an additional facility. This is an opportunity to be part of a $65 million new building construction project in Flushing, Queens. Join a dedicated, mission-driven group that is responsible for all facets of the capital project and work directly with the C-Suite/Executive leadership and the Director of Capital Projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable on a construction site and can provide plain language explanations/updates to senior leadership.
Plan, direct and coordinate construction and capital projects
Oversee and coordinate with architects, engineers and construction personnel to ensure they are complying with their contractual requirements
Maintain high level of communication with outside vendors (architects, planners, engineers and contractors, etc.), internal stakeholders (physicians, leadership, and staff), and governing agencies (NYS Department of Health, Department of Buildings etc.)
Manage and motivate the project team
Prepare and present monthly project reports
Administer capital procurements, prepare bid packages, and perform bid analysis
Develop and track project timelines
Actively manage, monitor and evaluate contractor reports and performance
Develop documents and schedules for various governing agencies
Facilitate grant proposals and grant reporting
Support capital financing and fundraising efforts
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in project management
Strong ability to think strategically and logistically
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and time-management skills
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
