Support FIU's compensation program designed to attract and recruit a talented and diverse workforce as well as reward and retain faculty and staff for their contributions to the university. Develops working relationships with university business units, as well as community resources to facilitate compensation activities. Conducts position audits and recommends action based on findings. Provides consultation services to departments.
Evaluates and analyzes salary data. Develops internal salary surveys. Participates in external market pricing, job reviews and reward processes. Evaluates and analyzes data and recommends target salaries for position postings. Conducts departmental studies and salary comparisons for departments.
Formulates salary range assignments based on salary surveys, appropriate marketing pricing and in statutory requirements governing compensation.
Develops and maintains appropriate systems to assure the integrity of compensation data. Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of interactive organizational charts.
Ensures compliance with laws and regulations regarding compensation.
Trains and supports University community on the use of compensation systems, processes, practices, procedures and the use of all appropriate forms.
Provides responsive customer service.
Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigned duties that are logically related to the position.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of professional compensation experience, or Master's degree and three (3) years of professional compensation experience.
Certified Compensation Professional
Knowledge of advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Knowledge of HR policies and practices.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
Knowledge of principles and procedures for compensation.
Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner.
Ability to analyze data.
Ability to ensure confidentiality of employees' records.
Ability to maintain a high level of professional integrity.
Ability to relate to a culturally diverse university community.
