This Project Manager position will provide project related management for the design and build to owner specifications, a fiber optic campus infrastructure, an active communications network, VoIP application, and the integration of other client applications.
This position is accountable for all aspects of the project's success from the client’s approval of the initial design to the timely and profitable completion of the build with a special emphasis on safety performance.
Major Job Elements
Serves as the projects prime point-of-contact for the client, other client subcontractors (including DAS, BMS, Security, PAS, etc.), the RGTS project team, and RGTS management
Manage overall performance of the project team managers, engineers and subcontractors
Plans, monitors, and controls the project throughout its lifecycle (initial design and design changes, work scope, sub-contract administration, schedule management, cost accounting, invoicing, and client satisfaction)
Support planning and scheduling activities based on standard project management principles while adhering to stringent goals and constraints;
Support meetings, inter-team communication, and issue resolution with the client and internal/project stakeholder groups
Timely notification to the client and management of any project delays or budget changes, and provides resolutions or alternate actions as required
Ensure Safety Practices and Quality Control Policies are followed
BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related profession required
Project Management Professional (PMP) or project management certification preferred
8 or more years of project management responsibility
Experience managing large scale multi-discipline telecommunications projects from $5 to $50 million
Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong track record of achieving goals and objectives within tight time frames
Experience with public or government contracts is required
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations
Strong knowledge of one or more relevant technical subject areas, such as fiber optics, telecom infrastructures, wide-area networking (IP VPNs), core switches & firewalls, VoIP, etc.
Ability to review and understand construction drawings and technical language.
Experience with project management and scheduling software and other tools for tracking, reporting and analyzing progress
Ability to work in an office setting as well as on an active construction site.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with general contractors, design professionals, and sub-contractors.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
