In search of US-Based ACTFL OPI tester of a World Language, for a full-time remote job opportunity with Language Testing International (LTI)
POSITION: Content Specialist
A full-time exempt position
The Content Specialist reports to the Content Manager.
The Content Specialist supports the planning and execution of LTI Marketing, Sales and Operations initiatives. Content Specialists are required to work set hours each day. The Content Specialist will conduct tests, rate assessments, review tests, and write rationales as needed during these hours. Additionally, due to their in-depth understanding of ACTFL assessments, LTI test procedures and test and rating platforms, they are responsible for generating content and documents related to marketing material.
In capacity of OPI Tester, conducts, rates and arbitrates ACTFL assessments as needed;
Reviews, edits and approves communication for release to clients and test-takers;
Conducts and/or participates in Task Analyses with clients;
Manages test UAT and rater site UAT assignments;
Supports special projects/programs as needed;
Works with members of the processing team and R&D teams;
Coordinates with LTI tester contractors, ACTFL staff, test developers and as needed LTI clients.
M.A. or equivalent degree in language education, applied linguistics, testing and assessment, world language or related field;
Proficiency in one or more world languages required;
Current ACTFL OPI tester certification required; additional ACTFL certifications, a plus;
Ability to identify problems, conceptualize solutions, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a people-friendly attitude and an upbeat, positive demeanor;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively and collegially in a results-oriented environment;
3-5 years of relevant professional experience desired;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite desired.
Please note: LTI’s offices are currently located in White Plains, NY. In June 2018, LTI will be moving about 20 minutes away from its current location. Many of the Content Specialists work remotely most of the time. The candidate for this position must be comfortable working from home. The Content Team meets via Zoom (an online platform). The team also meets with other departments at LTI via Zoom, WebEx and phone. Candidates for this position must become comfortable with these online platforms. In addition, Content Specialists may be asked to meet in the LTI offices or other locations on occasion. There is some compensation for travel as per LTI’s Travel Reimbursement policy.
