EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field; a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. An MBA in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA certification, major accounting firm experience, and/or experience negotiating accounting issues with government agencies is strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE: 5 or more years of progressively complex experience in finance/accounting with a minimum of 3+ years in management. Prior experience working in a government contractor environment. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Demonstrated comprehensive accounting management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones is required. Familiar with current financial management software, preferably Oracle. COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management. |
