The Health Contracts Analyst ("Contract Administrator 4") will work independently and proactively with decision-making responsibility under the general consultative direction of the UC Davis Health Associate Director. The responsibilities include assisting faculty and administrative units in writing, negotiating, overseeing and processing of health affairs business contracts with government and private contractors. The Analyst negotiates and drafts documents, and administer/implement the contract during its life. Additionally, the Analyst evaluates and implements changes in federal and state law and University policy related to health care contracting, and provide information and training to UCDH staff in the preparation, negotiation and administration of Health Affairs contracts through a variety of means.REQUIRED:--Demonstrated knowledge of certain programs and policies of state, federal, and local governments required to prepare and negotiate contracts, maintain liaison with governmental agencies and provide sound advice to others--Excellent negotiating skills that seek solutions and respect the policies and needs of all parties--Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent university policies and procedures that fall within scope of the position--Experience working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines --Demonstrated ability to assimilate new information and experience rapidly, recall knowledge acquired previously and apply it appropriately to new situations --Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work and take initiative in dealing with assignments--Excellent and effective communication skills with a wide variety of people in the private sector, public sector, government, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions, as well as with internal stakeholders--Demonstrated professional interpersonal skills in establishing good rapport and positive professional working relationships with all levels of the organization--Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems or information in an objective manner and derive logical conclusions to provide a sound basis for establishment of priorities, selection of appropriate courses of action for pursuit or recommendations to others, and resolve conflictPREFERRED: --Prior work experience in an academic health care system and knowledge of academic policies, procedures and issues --Advanced business or related degree, or, degree in Law
