In addition to offering a full range of microwave- and millimeter-wave amplifiers to space and defense customers, we also develop and manufacture state-of-the-art electric thrusters for satellite station keeping and interplanetary spacecraft propulsion. We currently have an opening for an ACCOUNTANT to administer SOX compliance and internal control processes at our Torrance, California location. In this position you will partner with managers and other employees to understand appropriate internal controls for their areas of responsibility that will maintain SOX compliance and allow for efficient operation of the business. You’ll work with process owners to update and maintain process documentation, flowcharts and controls; schedule and perform SOX management testing (including understanding and analyzing potential failures and progressing remediation); and maintain and update our internal SOX reporting system, including results of all testing. In addition, you will perform management testing and, when necessary, remediation testing of internal controls to ensure timely completion and compliance with our annual SOX test plan.
You will need at least 2-3 years of accounting or finance experience, with knowledge of SOX compliance and effective internal control processes. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include: Demonstrated ability to meet stringent reporting deadlines Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required to communicate clearly and effectively across various levels of the organization Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments Public accounting firm experience and/or aerospace or government contractor experience is a plus A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; CPA certification is highly desirable.
