The Student Affairs Coordinator's primary role is to provide guidance and review of medical students' proposed student activities involving student organizations. These include a variety of activities such as community outreach and volunteering. In addition, this position provides assistance with the selection of vendors, guidance on policies and procedures, submission of internal purchase order requisitions, payment of invoices and securing room requests for all elected student government's activities.
The Student Affairs Coordinator will liaise with BU's Schools of Dental Medicine and Public Health as well as the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences to ensure coordination of student events and activities across the medical campus. The Student Affairs Coordinator assists with large- and small-scale OSA event planning, including student orientations, graduation, Match Day, the White Coat ceremony, and various student lunches and meetings of all types. In addition, s/he also maintains and updates the Office of Student Affairs' website and maintains the student email listservs.
Other duties include processing the weekly student payroll; processing travel and other reimbursements; paying invoices; managing the inventory of office supplies and preparing orders of office supplies through SAP; coordinating travel; answering phones; scheduling meetings; directing callers; taking messages; signing for deliveries; and referring guests.
Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities
Prior WordPress experience desirable
The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
High degree of professionalism and the ability to interact with diplomacy and confidentiality with many individuals at all levels
