WSSC, one of the largest water and wastewater utility company in the USA, seeks a Sr. Claims Adjuster to be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and promptly resolving complex, extensive matters involving general liability, property, bodily injury, and auto liability claims presented against WSSC.
Specifically, the Sr. Claims Adjuster performs these essential functions;
Secures statements (recorded and written) from claimants, employees, witnesses, etc;
Inspects incident and/or accident scenes to secure photographs and diagrams and assess damage;
Reviews and evaluates property and/or auto damage estimates;
Pursues subrogation interests and salvage disposal;
Evaluates claims addressing negligence, possible defenses, damages and settlement recommendations;
Negotiates settlements with claimants and attorneys;
Applies relevant portions of the Maryland Annotated Code;
Analyzes medical reports;
Solicits information from WSSC employees, witnesses, attorneys, medical staff; plumbers, government officials, and contractors.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
3 years of experience in investigating, evaluating and resolving complex liability or property claims.

High School diploma or equivalent
9 years of experience in investigating, evaluating and resolving complex liability or property claims.
Additional coursework in insurance and estimating skills.
