The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh (SUNY Plattsburgh) seeks an accomplished and experienced leader to serve as its Vice President for Administration (VP). Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Administration is the Chief Financial Officer for the College. The VP is responsible for providing ethical leadership, management, and general oversight of the administrative and financial resources of the College, as well as the Maintenance and Operations divisions of the college. The VP serves as a key member of the President’s senior staff.
SUNY Plattsburgh is a four-year, public, comprehensive, and residential college located in upstate New York, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border, and 60 miles south of Montreal, in the city of Plattsburgh. SUNY Plattsburgh’s total enrollment is 5,520 students, with 5,215 undergraduate and 305 graduate students. The college offers more than 70 degree programs within three academic divisions: the School of Arts and Sciences; the School of Business and Economics; and the School of Education, Health, and Human Services. SUNY Plattsburgh employs 275 full-time and 155 part-time teaching faculty, 245 full-time and 120 part-time professional staff, and 300 classified staff.

Responsibilities Include: The ideal candidate for VP for Administration will be an effective leader, natural collaborator and communicator, a good steward of resources, and gifted manager of people, processes, projects, and systems. An inventive and experienced leader, this candidate should be well versed in trends in higher education financial management and associated operational areas.
Required Qualifications: The VP will have keen strategic and operational planning skills, strong financial acumen, superb staff and project management skills, a natural bias towards action and doing, and a highly communicative and collegial working style. At least ten years of experience, in progressively responsible leadership, is required.
Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree in business, finance, management, or other relevant field is preferred. Experience in a higher education environment of similar size and complexity is highly desirable.
