IT Project Manager: Under general supervision, this position will manage various University wide ITS implementation projects. A proven background in business analysis, requirements gathering, project planning, project execution management, and project resource management is required. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of software implementation lifecycles and have experience leading multiple software and/or hardware implementations. This position requires a strong background in business analysis, strong leadership skills for gathering and clarifying business requirements, project execution management and project resource management. Essential functions:Manage projects within ITS department. This responsibility requires working with and may include managing a broad range of faculty, staff, students, and contractors/consultants and acting as a primary project contact for key stakeholders in the business. Other duties and responsibilities include:Utilizing an agreed upon project methodology created by the PMO in coordination with the integration partner. Insuring quality control of that methodology and contributing to the further enhancement of the methodology.Working with the client community to develop detailed business requirements.Working with the project team and IT technical areas to develop technical requirements.Building and maintaining project plans and reporting on project progress to milestones.Working within ITS, as well as with vendors and business departments to staff projects including part-time roles.Serve as a professional source of advice and assistance on managing projects; train or remind other project leaders of the most important elements of project management, and assist them in addressing those elements. Design and produce reports, agendas, and minutes for project team meetings; set up and facilitate meetings where needed. Maintain project archives. Set up and maintain documentation and deliverables, etc. in central location.Resolve problems and issues as they develop. Ensure the proper communication of problem resolutions.Work with and/or manage the consulting services of vendors. This may also include the development of and adjustments to a project statement of work and determining vendor resource requirements.Research on new software, products or systems, including attending vendor demonstrations. Additionally, this may include research of current systems and related processes at other universities (May include testing on-line applications, contacting systems administrators, and interviewing students and administrators).Internal department support; mentoring new or junior staff, improving methodologies or processes and support and preparation for Governance activities.
