Senior level licensed architect has responsibility for construction administration on a variety of projects, including client contact, construction scheduling, and organizes, supervises and reviews the work of professional staff with job site observations; works closely with designers and Project Managers. Reports to a principal or partner.
Responsible for overseeing and administering multiple complex construction projects. Assignments are of a continuing nature, requiring the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in scheduling, assigning, and coordinating work with other units and external contractors and construction firms.
Principles and practices of construction management
Construction management industry scheduling and change order resolution
Modern methods and techniques used in the construction of wide variety of projects
Applicable laws and regulatory codes related to development and construction of various projec t types
District personnel rules, policies and labor provisions
Principles and practices of effective supervision
Engineering mathematics and surveying; construction materials; computer programs for contract administration. Knowledge of PlanGrid and ProCore Programs a plus.
Make complex construction contract computations and review plans and specifications for a wide variety of utilities, buildings, and other projects
To read, interpret, plan and lay out projects from blueprints
Conduct independent project administration and manage contracted construction firms
Identify needs and assignments and exercise judgment in carrying them out
Work cooperatively and effectively with the Board, the public, District Staff, State and Federal regulatory agencies, outside consultants and contractors, and local government agencies.
Monitor and maintain schedule on individual project tasks, multiple projects, and project and departmental budgets.
Use a company provided tablet for plan reviews, contract tracking, spreadsheet analysis and word processing applications
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Utilize standard engineering, mathematics, economics and research practices.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff
