The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation at the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh seeks a qualified candidate to fill a half-time, ten-month professional appointment as Assistant Volleyball Coach. This position will assist with coaching and recruiting within a high quality intercollegiate athletic program that is consistent with NCAA Division III philosophy.
Responsibilities include: Coaching responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program including: recruiting, scouting opponents, public relations efforts, budget operation, team travel arrangements, fundraising efforts, practice preparation, supervision and execution, game preparation, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, and coordinating team community service activities. The Assistant Coach will also carry out the responsibilities of the Head Coach in his/her absence. Evening and weekend work will be expected as necessary, as will travel.
Required Qualifications: Relevant playing and coaching experience, as well as a bachelor's degree is required. CPR/AED certification required within one month of appointment. The willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary, as well as travel, are also required.
Preferred Qualifications: New York State recruitment experience and knowledge of SUNYAC is preferred.
