Macquarie Capital is looking for an Energy Storage Development Specialist to work with clients on development state projects at various stages. Starting from early stage opportunities to secure land and grid options to late stage development projects that need to secure equipment suppliers and sub-contractors in order to be in a position to raise project finance.

Early Stage Development
assisting Team Executives to identify and assess new opportunities in photovoltaic energy, wind energy and ESS sectors;
assisting Team Executives to due diligence projects or development opportunities including the selection, appointment and management of due diligence advisers as necessary;
delivering development plans for projects including resourcing and budget planning;
establishing clear guidelines relating to the design and specification of ESS; and
proactively managing the development process including identifying key risks to project delivery and managing budget and funding to minimise potential losses due to delays or failure to secure projects.
Late Stage Development Projects
work together with project developers to identify any remaining development permits or consents required before construction can commence and work to secure these and de-risk project before financing process begins;
work together with project developers and Team Executives to scope and select project advisers and consultants including owners engineer, legal advisers and other market, technical or environmental consultants;
work together with project developers and Team Executives to identify, tender and select equipment suppliers, EPC and O&M contractors for projects;
work together with project developers and Team Executives to establish energy storage and delivery strategies
work together with project developers and Team Executives to establish ESS design and specifications;
commercial review and negotiation of term sheets and contracts, including agreements for lease, EPC and O&M agreements; and
assist Team Executives to prepare project specific elements of internal approval papers and information memoranda for debt and equity investors.
The successful candidate will have broad experience of renewable energy storage and delivery projects, ideally across a range of new technologies and geographies. Experience and skills should include:
proven experience in developing solar photovoltaic energy generation, wind energy generation and energy storage solutions including battery storage and others in conjunction with renewable energy solutions;
utilities project development experience including the identification of sites, developing or basic designing of suitable energy storage solutions, securing grid connections, planning and environmental approvals;
EPC and O&M contract preparation and negotiation;
equipment procurement experience, identifying appropriate technology, selecting suitable equipment suppliers and running competitive tenders for greenfield utilities projects;
scoping and selection of owner's engineers, legal advisers and other technical advisers or consultants for utilities projects;
demonstrable preference for working in an entrepreneurial environment;
solid commercial acumen and strong verbal and written communication skills; and
fluency in written and spoken Korean and English.
Additional experience and skills which would be beneficial for the role but are not a mandatory requirement include:
10yrs experience in the energy industry or similar field
Strong academic record with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
construction project management experience;
operational management of energy projects or plants either as part of an industrial owner, utility or investment fund;
managing utilities projects from development stage through to construction which have successfully secured non-recourse project finance; and
