Essential Job Duties:
The Program CRM position is responsible for working directly with selected North Carolina companies in order to assess, analyze, and identify services that will assist companies to grow and diversify. The position requires significant travel throughout the state in order to work with a minimum of ten (10) companies over the period of the performance (18-months) of the grant. Travel will also be required in order to attend professional services and manufacturing events, economic development and other seminars and conferences in North Carolina. The position requires strong writing and editing skills and the ability to produce concise and accurate company reports and other writing requirements. The CRM will work directly for the Director of the OEA grant to accomplish their job. The CRM must be self-sufficient in ensuring job responsibilities are accomplished. Essential job duties for this position are:
Duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Leadership: This position will require leadership for engaging, assessing and coordinating for the delivery of services to a minimum of ten (10) companies across the state of North Carolina. This position may monitor designated service-oriented goals within geographic regions or support functions and tracks measurable economic benefits for both companies/clients with responsiveness and customer service as a top priority. Maintain a good working level of awareness of all IES programs, industry needs, trends, and best practices. 2. Technical Service: This position requires knowledge of the unique challenges defense contractors face in North Carolina to include government contracting procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DoD contracting and proposal evaluation procedures, and an understanding of how defense contractors can successfully transition to the commercial sector. 3. Promotion: This position promotes all I ES services, not only for the specific technologies, but for the entire range of services to support the IES client. This is achieved through on-site visits, networking, presentations, marketing materials, educational programs, electronically and by other available means. 4. Relationships and Funding: The Client Relations Manager will be responsible for being the IES DoD OEA grant contact for a region and could also have statewide responsibilities. This responsibility would include visiting businesses, establishing contacts with all key community colleges, regional developers, community leaders, state leaders and establishing long term relationships with these groups. Meetings, presentations, providing services, and reports are required as needed. 5. Administration: The Client Relations Manager has administration duties that include company assessment and analysis reports writing, travel expenses, event scheduling, and other business reports. This position is required to regularly attend necessary meetings and travels as required by the client or directed by the NCDIDI Director, and the IES Associate Executive Director.
The final work plan for this position will be tailored to the background, talents and abilities of the selected individual in cooperation with the NCSSC Core Management Team.
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to plan, coordinate and facilitate grant activities including meetings, workshops, and training. - Working understanding of DoD contracting process and procedures and the Federal Acquisition Requisition (FAR). - Proficient in Google email, documents, and sheets and various other computer and web-based software. - Good communication and project management skills are needed. - The physical ability for a wide range of activities is required. - Four or more years of equivalent job experience.
- Experience working as a manager with a DoD contractor (professional services or manufacturer) in North Carolina. - Experience working with local communities in NC. - Experience with writing/editing reports. - Experience serving in the U.S. military - Master's Degree preferred
