Eligibility for Employment:

Master's Degree in ESL, Applied Linguistics or closely related field.
Five years of experience teaching ESL to non-native speakers in a post-secondary educational setting.
Two years of experience in developing ESL curriculum for a variety of language levels.
Demonstrated experience and successful track record of accomplishment in university intensive English program administration and management.
Ability to travel within the USA and overseas.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident as required by Department of State to be eligible to fulfill requirements of a Designated School Official (DSO).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, negotiate, and implement customized training programs.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistency in delivery in all programs.
Consult with academic and campus administrative departments on English proficiency requirements for custom and regular programs as needed.
Develop remedial program offerings as needed.
Oversee the scheduling and offer classes and monitoring of participant progress.
Design innovative products that meet the needs of various audiences, including internal constituents.
Market AppELS to potential contractors and participants.
Build and utilize a network of corporate and agency contacts, locally and internationally, to build, grow, and diversify AppELS Programs.
Serve as liaison to external constituents, including sponsoring agencies, grantors, contract partners, foreign and US governments, and international education organizations which are directly related to AppELS work.
Supervise admission, registration, testing and placement, orientation, housing and support services for AppELS participants.
Supervise development and maintenance or reports and records especially for SACS-COC and ACE accreditation reporting.
Collaborate with other campus units, including Enrollment Management and Graduate Studies, to oversee/consult on (as appropriate) admissions policies, collaborative and comprehensive recruitment plans, and international marketing materials.
Travel within the USA and overseas.
Supervisory experience for administrative and instructional staff.
Responsibility for budget projection/management.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including cross-cultural communication competencies.
Promotion of effective engagement of U.S. Domestic and international students through programs and/or classroom instruction.
Awareness of immigration regulations as they impact intensive English program enrollments.
Recruitment and management experience for international students and instructional staff.
Evidence of commitment to the field of international education (demonstrated professional involvement: i.e. publications, presentations, grants, engagement with TESOL, NAFSA or other relevant international education organizations).
