Advertised Summary Job Description: The Strategic Information (SI) Director provides technical and managerial support to data collection, management and analysis components of the overall project and individual surveys.
General Minimum Qualifications: -Oversee and manage the structure and functioning of the overall data architecture (collection, reporting, management, analysis) component of the project, including staffing, consultants and contractors.
-Effectively represent the project in strategic meetings, consultations and conferences associated with data management and analytics.
-Lead, collaborate with, and/or assist the development and preparation of project-related abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts.
-Perform other related duties, as directed
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: -Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health surveillance, monitoring and evaluation or data management
-Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis, management of large and complex surveillance data sets, use and dissemination of public health data, and provision of technical assistance in these areas.
-Demonstrated competence in the analysis of population-based and/or facility-based data.
-Demonstrated and successful experience in managing complex, large-scale databases and a focus on research methods
-Expertise in survey statistics, as evidenced by supporting publications, presentations and other accomplishments
-Demonstrated experience in conducting and coordinating household surveys, data analysis and training professional statisticians
-Demonstrated experience in facilitating the dissemination and use of population-based and/or facility-based data in developing countries.
-Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities. -Excellent written and oral communications skills. -Capacity to work with a high degree of independence within complex projects. -Strong project management, organizational, administrative and supervisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications: -Demonstrated competence working within CDC or similar regulations and procedures.
-Proven experience in establishing working relationships and collaborating with USG, other bilateral and/or multilateral donor agencies, and with host-country governments.
-Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in French, Portuguese or relevant indigenous local languages.
