Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, the Director, Greek Life is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning for student leadership development and support services rendered on behalf of the UCI Greek community. Oversees all administrative, policy, leadership development, and program functions impacting 4 governing councils (Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and the Panhellenic Association), honor societies, and over 40 individual organizations with a collective membership of approximately 2,400 students. Provides particular focus to addressing the unique needs of UCIs culturally-based Greek organizations (African-American, Asian, South Asian, Armenian, Chicano/Latino), most of which are not nationally-affiliated. Provides effective advising to fraternities and sororities and works closely with chapter advisors, alumni councils, and community.Oversees long and short-range goal and strategy development, program planning, marketing, expansion, assessment, and evaluation for functional area. Responsible for collecting, tracking, and analyzing data and developing policy recommendations based on this research. Exercises authority in decision making and problem-solving for issues related to fraternity and sorority international headquarters.Collaborates with on and off campus departments and organizations to develop and cultivate risk management and safety education, policy interpretation, leadership development, cultural competency, and advocacy on behalf of the Greek community.The Director supervises the Assistant Director, Greek Life (SAO III), who provides student leadership development, sexual assault education, organizational development, and support services rendered on behalf of the UCI Greek community.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
