This recruitment is for Temporary Legal Administrative Analyst positions through UCI's internal temporary service. Job Duties include: Processing and handling subpoenas served on the campus; including review, directing and coordinating appropriate document response to each subpoena Responding to subpoenas and document handling in confidential fashion Obtain, organize and review all documents gathered in response to each subpoena, prepare for signature the verification statement or affidavit as required Meeting strict deadlines; working with multiple University Departments and outside law firms in a professional manner; maintaining subpoena files and log Assisting with Discovery: Document production; document review; bates stamping; production indexing, including e-discovery. Willingness and aptitude to cross train, learning to assist in a multitude of other tasks, in a fast paced, high volume, professional office setting Education: Associate or Bachelor Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training Paralegal training a plus, but not mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable in the following areas: risk management, insurance, basic legal and medical terminology, with ability to learn University organization and structure. Skilled use of specific computer application programs Demonstrated knowledge and experience with legal subpoenas and the rules/procedures governing proper service and response Proven interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, active listening skills, and organizational skills. Ability to develop good working relationships with campus employees and campus departments. Ability to interact effectively with others at all levels in a professional manner in the strictest of confidentiality Exceptional verbal communication and public speaking skills to communicate in a professional and persuasive manner. Demonstrated exceptional writing skills to communicate with all levels of a complex multi-level organization. Ability to articulate complex topics in an effective and concise manner Other desirable skills include experience working in a higher education setting Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT *This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department; * To be a viable candidate for the temporary employment program, you must be able to start employment within 1 to 2 days after temporary employment is offered; * Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate matches the requirements, and a fit to the assignment; * TES is constantly seeking applicants although there may not be the immediate need to interview or hire.
The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., however, we also have occasional part-time, weekend and evening hours available.
