We are currently recruiting for a leader of our facility and airfield maintenance teams. We are looking for a team member that shares our desire to expand the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority (GFIAA) by creating an exceptional experience for our guests and employees. The maintenance leader will oversee and direct the employees and contractors engaged in Facilities Maintenance and Airfield Maintenance and is the primary individual responsible for ensuring compliance with all appropriate FAA airport regulations.
Functional areas within the scope of this position include preventative and corrective maintenance programs for: Structures (HVAC, electrical, lighting, machinery, etc.), Airfield Maintenance (roadways, taxiway, vehicles, paving and snow and ice control etc.) and Grounds.
Planned compensation for this role ranges from $75,500 to $114,000 plus potential performance bonus, health and welfare benefits, and participation in the GFIAA retirement plan.
Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
Thorough working knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
Thorough working knowledge of FAA rules, regulations and requirements governing maintenance and operations.
Thorough working knowledge of federal and state construction and operations statutes and codes, including, but not limited to fire codes, health codes, electrical codes, and OSHA/MIOSHA rules and regulations.
Thorough working knowledge of ADA accessibility requirements relating to public buildings and the fixtures and furnishings therein
Working knowledge of snow removal practices, protocols and requirements for airfield movement and non-movement areas in a cold weather station.
Working knowledge of building, grounds, and airfield maintenance principles and practices, including preventative maintenance programs and practices.
Working knowledge of security and safety protocols and procedures.
Knowledge of budget planning and administration.
Knowledge of applied mechanics, hydraulics, building mechanical systems, and electricity.
Good interpersonal and human relations skills and can interact positively with individuals from a wide range of stakeholders and cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to prepare written reports and record information using computer systems.
Ability to gather and analyze data from a variety of sources and make decisions accordingly.
Ability to analyze complex issues and develop new solutions.
Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering and architectural drawings and designs, mechanical drawings, engineering and architectural specifications, diagrams and other specifications.
Computer literacy and working knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications software.
Thorough working knowledge of risk management practices and procedures for physical facilities and facility operations.
