Serves as a consultant to HR Business Partner, School Directors, Assistant Director of AP, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, and faculty on academic personnel issues. Works closely with School's staff in the processing of recruitments, new hires, merits, and promotions for senate and non-senate appointments, including tenured, tenure track, visiting appointments and without salary appointments. Coordinates actions on appointments, merit and tenure actions related to split faculty appointments with other campus schools. Reviews and interprets complex policies and procedures governing senate and non-senate academic personnel actions. Serves as a liaison between the Office of Academic Personnel, Payroll office, and the International Center on issues related to academic personnel. Analyzes proposed academic actions to determine potential problems or complications. Advises Directors, Assistant Director, Assistant Dean, Associate Deans, and unit managers/supervisors regarding appropriate actions for significant variations from planned or forecasted results and provides interpretive comments on recommendations for the Schools in the School of Engineering. Provide guidance for AP Recruit, AP Review and academic on line systems for faculty. Provide regular and as needed training to School and Program staff in Engineering on academic personnel policies and procedures. Performs as training and development administrator for all payroll administrative functions for employees in the School. Responsible for reviewing the UCI PAN system verifying actions submitted by departments, providing guidance to analysts and managers on appropriate actions/corrections. Serve as the School's UC Path Subject Matter Expert and Point of Contact. Responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of collective bargaining unit, campus, UC, state, and federal policies and procedures.
