Affirmative Action No.:: 20P296 Department:: Human Resources Position FTE:: 100% Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate: $50,000 Job Purposes:: Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, serves as the technical affirmative action compliance adviser and is a pivotal contributor to the campus EEO/Affirmative Action & Inclusion efforts. The position serves as a liaison and works closely and collaboratively with talent management colleagues, diversity officer, Human Resources, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Office of Institutional Research, Compliance, and academic and administrative divisions on affirmative action compliance activities. The EEO & Inclusion Specialist supports campus diversity and inclusion efforts through provision of data and workforce composition graphics as requested and appropriate. The Specialist is responsible for producing and/or working with external consulting firms to produce federally mandated employee affirmative action plans and for monitoring and, when appropriate, implementing, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations and audit provisions. The position, upon request or direction, conducts or arranges for workforce data statistical analyses aimed at identifying and ultimately addressing areas of potential improvement. The role is responsible for leading and participating in EEO initiatives, including but not limited to outreach efforts to potential applicants who are underrepresented, veterans and those with disabilities. Serves as the technical, administrative support and lead for office fair hiring efforts including the search training efforts working collaboratively with those responsible for training content and delivery. The Specialist will ensure that applicants and employees are given equal opportunities in employment and contracting activities regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Required Qualifications:: Bachelor's degree. At least two years of specialized and related work experience, including preparing, implementing, or administering affirmative action plans and producing underutilization data for enhancing diversity efforts. Knowledge of EEO and affirmative action requirements. Experience in OFCCP policies/guidelines and audit provisions for government contractors. Experience in training, providing guidance, and education to the workforce related to federal, state, and university regulations and policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel or related software.Preferred Qualifications:: Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think analytically and solve problems. Ability to prepare and facilitate affirmative action plans. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to graph analysis and prepare executive briefings for key stakeholders. Experience with applicant tracking systems, such as PeopleAdmin SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CAAEP preferred.Essential Functions and percent of time:: 45% Adhering to EEO/AA laws and regulations and all relevant hiring requirements.
Helps to create, implement, and maintain the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program. Monitors policy development pertinent to EEO/AA and develops relevant policies, recommendations and/or procedures following university policy development protocols. Reviews all postings for EEO/AA compliance to include new positions, internal promotions, search waivers, etc. Approves applicant pools and authorizes applicants who meet minimum requirements for searches.35% Managing AA plan, underutilization and data analysis.
Gathers, compiles, analyzes, and interprets data necessary for external (government) and internal EEO compliance, reporting, and monitoring. Data may include recruitment, hiring, terminations, promotions, disciplinary actions, salaries, applicant flows, and transfers. Plans, completes, and files required EEO and/or affirmative action reports and documentation with government agencies. Oversees affirmative action plan and maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies; uses data to support enhanced diversity and inclusion efforts. Uses appropriate software or tools to measure and monitor equal opportunity and affirmative action plan compliance. Reports survey results, statistics, and recommendations for corrective action to the Director of Talent Management, Chief HR Officer and other appropriate stakeholders. Addresses internal inquiries regarding civil rights and equal opportunity laws and regulations as appropriate based on the specialist's expertise; refers sensitive issues and concerns to other HR personnel or appropriate legal staff. Ensures timely processing and review of complaints by coordinating, monitoring, and streamlining complaint procedures.15% Training, communication and consultation.
Develops and ensures search training is available and updated as needed in collaboration with HR, specifically Talent Management Lead, and Office of Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. Delivers training as needed.5% Other relevant duties
