CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR , Office of Sponsored Research (OSP) , to work with departments, labs, and centers (DLCs) on basic and standard grants and contracts. Will act as the primary point of contact for principal investigators (PIs) and their staff for all items related to research and sponsored projects administration including proposal development and submission; standard award setup and management; and award reporting requirements related to sponsor/state/federal requirements and post-award administration. Will receive, evaluate, and submit proposals for sponsored programs; coordinate the review and submission of budgets and/or grant proposals; work with DLCs on proposal submissions in accordance with MIT sponsor policies; work with PIs on obtaining available institutional data as required by sponsor; act as liaison between MIT and the sponsor; follow up with PI on requirements or IRB, export controls, and other non-financial compliance areas; review sponsors' program guidelines and solicitations, informing PI of any concerns; terminate and close out awards; monitor preparation of reports; obtain instructions and disposition of overruns; confirm that all required approvals and ethical compliances have been obtained and satisfied prior to grant set up.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least five years' relevant research administration experience; excellent interpersonal, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; flexibility; knowledge of federal guidelines and procedures, preferably those of the NIH, NSF, DOD, and NASA; and proficiency with MS Office (including strong Excel skills), databases, and other systems. Must be able to interact effectively with DLCs, government agencies, and contractors; manage multiple priorities and meet various concurrent deadlines; and work independently and as part of a team.
