Chief Privacy Officer and Director Privacy Office

Manages and oversees all activities relating to the privacy program for the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee enterprise (BCBST).

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance and enhancement of the enterprise-wide privacy program, including policies and procedures and practices; education and training for BCBST employees and contractors; response to privacy-related questions, complaints and member inquiries; negotiation and execution of business associate agreements; and BCBST response to potential unauthorized uses and disclosures of member information.
• Coordinates with executive leadership, the Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer, among others, on strategic initiatives relating to member information, privacy protections, and alignment among data privacy and security activities.
• In coordination with executive leadership and legal counsel, serves as the BCBST liaison on privacy matters to government agencies and other third parties.
• Manage and oversee the daily functions and performance of the Privacy Office, including overseeing personnel, workloads, and budget.
