JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Compliance and Privacy optimizes, implements and leads key functions of Conifer�s Ethics and Compliance program which will include but not be limited to Investigations and Privacy Compliance. The Senior Director of Compliance and Privacy is singularly responsible for the success of their functions within the Ethics and Compliance Program. The position assures compliance with applicable state, federal, and international regulations as well as professional guidelines. The Senior Director of Compliance and Privacy will work in collaboration with their peers to develop Conifer�s Annual Compliance Work Plan that will address the OIG Work Plan, existing and emerging organizational compliance risk, and other compliance best practices.

Oversees the compliance investigations team:
- Optimizes investigation processes to ensure efficiency, minimize organizational risk, and promote client satisfaction
- Escalates high risk matters, as appropriate, to the Chief Compliance Officer, Client Delivery, Compliance & Audit Committee, and Board of Managers
- Proactively monitors compliance matter metrics to address high risk trends and or compliance culture deficiencies
- Facilitates proactive client compliance outreach to ensure a mutually agreed upon approach to managing relevant compliance risks with their organizations
- In collaboration with Compliance Leadership team members, ensures appropriate compliance risk management occurs during the prospective and new client due diligence and integration efforts
As the primary privacy compliance program leader:
- Partners with leadership to optimize a comprehensive privacy program that defines, develops, maintains and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective privacy practices which minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI), paper and/or electronic, across all media types.
- Serves as a partner to client privacy leadership.
- Works with applicable members of organizational leadership to ensure appropriate governance for the privacy program.
- Facilitates the risk-based development and administration of all privacy training and awareness activities within the organization.
- Functions as the lead organizational subject-matter expert for data privacy compliance
- Cooperates and/or partners with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Office for Civil Rights, State regulators and/or other legal entities in any compliance reviews or investigations.
- Reviews and monitors compliance with Business Associate Agreeements and Sub-Contractor Privacy Agreements
- Leads high profile privacy investigations and supports compliance officers who perform other privacy investigations
- Understands and implements appropriate controls to address not only HIPAA but other relevant international and state privacy laws
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (Specify Revenue/Budget/Expense):
- Prepare annual departmental budget specific to area of responsibility and manage to the approved budget throughout the fiscal year
- Reviews and approves expense reports for direct reports.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
If direct report positions are listed below, the following responsibilities will be performed in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
- Master�s degree in relevant field or Juris Doctorate required
- 5-10 years of demonstrated leadership skills and experience in compliance program building and management (or equivalent consulting experience) for a large healthcare provider or healthcare service organization required
- 2-5 years demonstrated experience working in a global organization preferred
- Experience with client relationship management preferred
- Strong people management, attention to detail, and communication skills are essential
