The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, , Legal, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and public affairs business lines. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. This role is under Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) Architecture and Strategy group that is responsible for developing consistent architecture and engineering strategy to enable delivery of safe, secure and consistent solutions for all EFT supported business domains. EFT Architecture and Strategy is responsible for EFT application modernization strategy and providing shared engineering services to accelerate EFT technology modernization journey. This Engineering Modernization Services Sr Manager role is responsible for setting key strategic direction for engineering modernization, enable hybrid cloud adoption, manage shared EFT application integration and API enablement capabilities, and develop strategies to improve developer productivity. This role will be responsible for developing relevant engineering standards, guidelines/playbooks to enable EFT application modernization, resiliency, developing cloud native applications. This person will partner with enterprise cloud platform, CI/CD pipeline, various other enterprise platform teams, architects, and EFT engineering managers and developer community to enable EFT modernization. This role is also responsible developing consistent resiliency platform architecture for EFT applications working with CIOs and domain architects. Responsibilities also include: - Develop engineering best practices, guidelines, standards and accelerators
- Develop and manage Application integration and API enablement platform
- Develop shared engineering services to incubate innovative architecture and design patterns and evaluate emerging technologies
- Bring innovative transformational design ideas to develop a strong cloud migration strategy and roadmap
- Provide engineering thought leadership and apply innovative design patterns for effective and efficient technology management
- Develop and manage EFT engineering community of practice
- Incubate Shared EFT capabilities
- Bring strong technical skills and ability to lead the discussion with technology and functional teams
- Document and present design to Sr. leaders
- Must work across the organization at senior levels to establish, maintain and govern all aspect of EFT cloud migration Strategy and Roadmap
- Collaborate effectively with cross-section of enterprise resources in improving our efficiency and effectiveness to deliver Wells Fargo products to market faster
- Lead effectively in a matrix organization, developing partnerships with many functional areas, and having a strong execution and delivery, Relationship management and influencing skills
- Develop strategies to improve developer productivity and reduce technology debt
- Develop strategy to design and engineer resilient, scalable cloud native applications
- Assess key EFT platforms for resiliency and guide teams on designing for resiliency
- Design and incubate new systems using micro services, API gateway and Integration platform
- Develop EFT engineering best practices and frameworks
- Evaluate and incubate modern technologies and engineering practices
- Develop EFT resiliency design and engineering practices
- Design and develop APIs
- Provide leadership to the team for project planning, requirement analysis, implementation and co-ordinate testing activity
- Work closely with our business partners to analyze and resolve all issues and inquiries
- Provide consistently high level of client service to our partners
- Manage development staff consisting of technology managers, and team leaders including both onshore and offshore resources consisting of full-time developers, contractors and consultants
- Should be very knowledgeable developing web based applications
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of technology engineering experience
- 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
- 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- 5+ years of experience developing and managing Integration platform, MuleSoft preferred
- 5+ years of experience in developing event driven solutions using Kafka
- 5+ years of experience in developing Micro Services based solutions
- 3+ years of experience in designing and engineering cloud native solutions
- Experience in one or a combination of the following: Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes
- 3+ years of public cloud experience
- Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
- Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
- Financial services industry experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- A BS/BA degree or higher
Other Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD automation tools
- Experience in defining engineering strategy for resiliency
- 6+ years of experience with Agile practices
- 5+ years of systems architecture and design experience
- 5+ years of experience with modern industry-standard software engineering technologies and toolsets5+ years of experience in translating emerging and creative architecture patterns into engineering solutions
- 2+ years of experience in developing and managing engineering Community of Practice
- Experience in designing solutions for hybrid cloud environment
- Experience managing large or multiple technology development efforts for a major line of business
- Management experience including large/multiple application development efforts within a small-to-medium size line of business
- A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering
