Adjunct Instructor: Negotiation The Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University seeks an adjunct instructor for a Negotiation course for professional master's students in the Summer 2021 semester. This course focuses on improving fundamental negotiating competencies in personal and organizational contexts. This course should teach students how to negotiate more effectively through a combination of assessments, exercises, and simulations. This class should draw upon current research and recognized best practices and should emphasize both basic mastery and practical application of the subject matter. Therefore, it should provide both elements of both education (learning about) and training (learning how to) as it relates to mastery of negotiation tactics and skills. The course design should at interactive and should utilize cases/simulations. The Negotiation course is a half semester (i.e. 7 weeks). Case studies, readings, and assessments should include relevant examples drawn from nonprofit and mission driven organizations as well as for-profit entities to align with the students' future employment goals which span all sectors: government, nonprofits, and for-profit organizations. The instructor should be a practitioner or academic with direct experience with negotiation. Recent experience in teaching graduate or professional courses is preferred.
