Moya Design Partners (MOYA) is searching for a new member to join our diverse and innovative global team! We’re looking for a full-time Project Architect who thrives in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments, is adaptable and business minded. This role requires a combination of technical experience and knowledge of code compliance, as we are a diverse company that takes on projects of all sizes and specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in design completion and documentation for projects of complex nature (government and commercial workspaces). Project sizes vary from small scale interior renovations to full building design and development.
Consult with clients to build plans and designs that suit their needs; balance client needs with MOYA interests and standards.
Provide feedback to and communicate with contractors, construction crews, and clients through the design process from conception to completion.
Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure compliance with zoning, environmental, and safety requirements; prepare organized field reports and deficiency notes to reflect compliance with national regulations and building standards.
Lead/Participate in project progress meetings and coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and designers concerning the strategic development of projects.
Guide, inform, and coordinate the technical development of a variety of design efforts; maintain a broad perspective on the considerations of systems, space, budget, and materials.
Comply with the schedule and budget for project progress and work with contractors, owner, and consultants to ensure on-time deliverables that meet the needs of the client.
Provide expert analysis on design solutions and proposals to ensure functionality and appearance.
Contribute to the full life cycle development of projects that are diverse and technically challenging.
Be responsible for stamping and sealing Permit Drawings.
Perform other duties as assigned within your scope of practice and this position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education
Professional degree in architecture or related field.
Licensed architect or working towards license, preferred.
Experience
10+ years of experience in Project Architecture and Project Management.
Proven technical experience in construction contract administration policies, procedures, and concepts.
QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive demonstrated knowledge of code compliance throughout the design and construction phases of development.
Advanced knowledge of design principles and standards, construction documentation and knowledge of IBC and District of Columbia codes.
Well versed in Revit.
Working knowledge Adobe, BlueBeam, and Microsoft 365.
Demonstrated understanding of construction practices, methodologies, and detailing.
Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and maintain clear communication through a project’s completion as a technical expert.
Collaborative and professional work ethic in a multidisciplinary environment.
Strong self-motivation and ability to set priorities, manage competing demands and achieve long term goals.
Ability to work on a diverse team, while being respectful and fostering an openness to diverse schools of thought, backgrounds, and processes.
Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work independently, and solve problems creatively.
Proactive, with a high degree of self-initiative.
