UW MEDICINE FINANCE AND BUDGET has an exciting opportunity for a UW MEDICINE SENIOR REIMBURSEMENT ANALYST.

Accountable to the UW Medicine Government Accounting Director, the UWM SENIOR REIMBURSEMENT ANALYST will be responsible for SCCA reporting, FHCC and Behavioral Health Teaching Facility reporting.

The SENIOR REIMBURSEMENT ANALYST will also:

  • Be responsible for accounting and reporting of UW Medicine hospital information to State, Federal government entities.  Provides support to UW Medicine budgeting, contracting, decision support, accounting, revenue cycle and compliance departments.
  • This role requires interpretation, analysis and implementation of complex Medicare and Medicaid regulations, impacting UW Medicine financial reporting and compliance with federal regulations including CMS, DHHS, NIH, and OIG.
  • Develops and Prepares Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for UW Medicine hospitals (HMC, UWMC, Northwest and affiliates-SCCA).
  • Works directly with hospital staff and management to collect and validate source data.
  • Prepares accounting entries and reconciliations related to governmental program transactions.
  • Coordinates audits, re-openings and appeals of cost reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED:

    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • At least 6 years of Medicare & Medicaid cost reporting experience is required
  •   Fiscal Intermediary/Medicare Administrative Contractor, consulting firm or provider experience is preferred.
  • Strong skill level with financial systems such as General Ledger and supporting software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access is required
  • CPA preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered         

    DESIRED:

  • Ability to prepare complex financial analysis and interpretations with high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective analytical, verbal and written communications skills.
  •   Ability to summarize complex financial data into graphical and presentation-quality formats.
  • Ability to extract and reconcile data from multiple systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  •   Ability to formulate recommendations and interpret financial information.
  •   Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
