Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE | 40 hours/week), day shift, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH APPRENTICESHIP PROJECT DIRECTOR.

Under the general oversight of the BHI Program Director, the BH Apprenticeship Project Director will lead the implementation of the Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Project. This position will be responsible for collaboratively planning, managing, promoting, and expanding the program for the entire State and will engage with employer partners and government and state agencies. While at times working independently, this position functions as part of a larger effort to increase the behavioral health workforce and access to behavioral health services. This position will contribute to analyzing workforce components outside of apprenticeship efforts, contributing to identifying gaps and collaborating on solutions specific to the BH workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates in development and implementation of long-term strategic plan to achieve the successful outcome and scaling of the program.
  • Supports the planning and delivery of registered apprenticeship and related activities.
  • Partners with the BHI Program Director to monitor scope, schedule, milestones, performance, and contract agreements.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of contract management and fidelity monitoring.
  • Leads creation and implementation of data collection and evaluation of the project and ensure data procurement and analysis for partner organizations.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of BH workforce development issues to identify project gaps and innovative opportunities.
  • Reports project activities to the Program Director and additional leadership, ensuring all reporting elements are satisfied
  • Ensures successful delivery of all elements identified in the completed project plan by engaging with strategic partners and key stakeholders.
  • Identifies and cultivates Washington State hiring organizations in collaboration with project partners.
  • Meets regularly in a variety of settings, with employers and community partners, to develop, steward and manage strong relationships.
  • Works to develop and gain program support from employers.
  • Provides guidance and consultation to project partners.
  • Promotes visibility of the project with partners.
  • Creates strategic partnerships with and through healthcare and behavioral health industry leaders and key stakeholders including, but not limited to regional Accountable Communities of Health, Managed Care Organizations, professional associations, relevant advisory councils, and government/state agencies such as the Workforce Training Board, State Board of Community and Technical Colleges, Department of Health, Health Care Authority and Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, and regional Workforce/Health Worksource councils and contractors.
  • Investigates, analyzes and recommends opportunities to BHI leadership for additional grant and contract funding to support the BH workforce.
  • Oversees the implementation of designed budget, monitor spending for all assigned areas, and identify needs for adjustment in partnership with Program Director.
  • Exemplifies financial stewardship by effectively and efficiently managing human and financial resources to achieve desired outcomes.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health, human services
    OR
    related field 3 years of experience in behavioral health.
    AND
    3 years of supervisory or program management experience.
